This morning we have an interesting visit at the former used airport at Eagle Farm visiting the TradeCoast Central Heritage Park. Inside the Interpretive Centre we will be spoiled for choice between in-depth touchscreens, a movie in the cinema, an interactive model, and display panels with object cabinets. There are three heritage sites here which combine stories of Brisbane’s convict era as the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement and two surviving World War Two sites – Allison Engine Testing Stands and Hangar 7. We have free time here to explore at leisure. Everyone likes a little bit of shopping, we head to DFO where we can do a spot of shopping and to purchase lunch. This afternoon we have arranged a tour at Miegunyahn House Museum. Owned by the Queensland Women’s Historical Association, Miegunyah was built in 1886 for Herbert and Leila Perry. It is richly decorated with iron-lace balustrades, filigree columns and friezes, and furnished in the style of the late 19th century. Following our tour we enjoy Devonshire tea. Tonight we dine out on-board the Kookaburra River Cruise. Sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment on-board as we cruise up and down the river taking in Brisbane on the water.
